Greenwich, Conn. – November 14, 2006 – Cambridge Integrated Services, the leader in innovative claims and risk management services, announced today that all Cambridge claims professionals have completed the company’s comprehensive National Claims Certification Program.
“No other company in the industry has in place such a rigorous program of certification and re-certification of its claims professionals,” said Cambridge president Wesley O’Brien. “With the National Claims Certification Program, we have taken the lead in developing formal continuing education for employees and have yet again set the standard for the rest of the industry.”
The internal certification program, presented through the Cambridge Claims Training Academy, aims to develop the most highly qualified claims specialists possible to facilitate loss reduction, consistency, and overall quality in service delivery. The training program incorporates the elements that Cambridge has identified as its clients’ top service priorities, based on a recent company survey.
“The claims certification program reflects our commitment to and investment in making sure all of our employees can become the very best claims professionals in the business,” added O’Brien. “This initiative will drive our company towards our vision of unparalleled excellence in achieving the best possible outcomes for our customers and stakeholders.”
The program’s five weekly sessions focus on Cambridge’s best practices for claims management including coverage, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, subrogation, medical and disability management, litigation management, supervision and documentation. The training curriculum also addresses fraud awareness, keys to effective action planning, and timely and appropriate reserving. Additional specialized training addresses different lines of business, such as workers’ compensation and liability. The depth of the training gives employees an opportunity to broaden their skills and teaches them how to make the best informed decisions for reducing loss and enhancing quality for clients.
Successful completion of the claims certification examination is compulsory for all Cambridge claims professionals. To date, the combined pass rate for all staff on the workers’ compensation and liability certification examinations is 94 percent. Cambridge also requires these staff members to regularly participate in claims re-certification training to ensure that they remain up-to-date on changes in processes and legal and regulatory requirements.
